Toyota Zamboanga City (TZC)
Toyota Cagayan de Oro, Inc (TCO) started the year right in 2015 as it opened its door to Zamboanga Peninsula. Toyota Zamboanga City (TZC) is the 2nd branch to open less than 2 years from the opening of Toyota Butuan City (TBT). Toyota Cagayan de Oro Group has accomplished servicing customer needs in Northern Mindanao as well as the Eastern and Western Mindanao area. Toyota Zamboanga City was launched last January 21, 2015, another moment full of pride and honor for the TCO community.
Team Vinta
The Vinta, one of the most recognizable icons of Zamboanga, is a traditional boat found near the Philippine island of Mindanao made by the Bajau and Moros living in Sulu and Zamboanga. It has a sail with assorted colors, each color separated from the other in a vertical fashion. The color used in every line represents the colorful culture and history of the Muslims.
Originally, Vinta was the term used for a Moro dance which imitates the movements of the boats. This dance is a celebration reminiscing the time when Filipinos migrated to the archipelago.
Zamboanga’s history and culture is represented by the colorful Vinta and the vinta may also represent the Philippines as it signifies migration and the colorful traditions of our country.
As we open our door in the Zamboanga Peninsula as Toyota Zamboanga City, the Vinta represents TOYOTA and Toyota Cagayan de Oro’s migration to this part of West Mindanao with high hopes that Toyota’s culture and history will be imbedded in it’s already rich culture. In the years to come, we envision Toyota to add color to Zamboanga’s Vinta.
