On June 16, 2024, Toyota Zamboanga City (TZC) reported to the National Privacy Commission (NPC) a data security incident involving the unauthorized access and disclosure of our customer data.
The customer data subject of the disclosure is limited to the following information – name, birthdate, gender, TIN, and contact information (address, email, phone number). Rest assured that no financial or bank account information has been disclosed.
TZC will continue to investigate details of the alleged data breach, including scope and cause, and will monitor the effectiveness of our systems and regularly update our existing security controls to protect customer data.
We will be transparent and cooperate with NPC and other relevant agencies regarding this alleged data breach.
We sincerely apologize for this incident and any inconvenience this may cause to our valued customers.
Meanwhile, we take this opportunity to remind all our valued customers and the general public to be extra cautious of phishing emails, fraudulent text messages, and suspicious phone calls purporting to be from Toyota Zamboanga City.
