SAFETY OFFICER / PROPERTY CUSTODIAN
Job Summary:
The Safety Officer / Property Custodian is responsible for promoting a safe and compliant workplace while ensuring the proper custody, monitoring, and control of company properties, equipment, and assets. This dual-role position supports the implementation of occupational safety practices, conducts workplace inspections, maintains safety documentation, and manages property records to ensure assets are properly accounted for and maintained. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance Management
- Assist in implementing and monitoring workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with company safety procedures and applicable occupational safety requirements.
- Assist in maintaining safety-related records, reports, checklists, and documentation.
- Safety Training and Emergency Preparedness
- Support the conduct of safety orientations and awareness activities for employees.
- Assist in coordinating emergency drills, safety inspections, and other occupational safety initiatives.
- Promote proper use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices within the dealership.
- Property and Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of company properties, tools, equipment, and other assets.
- Monitor the issuance, transfer, return, and condition of company properties.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory and reconciliation of assets against records.
- Report missing, damaged, or unaccounted-for properties and assist in appropriate resolution.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain safety, property, inventory, and compliance reports using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ensure proper filing and organization of property and safety-related documents.
- Assist in audits, inspections, and verification activities involving safety and company assets.
- Coordination and Administrative Support
- Coordinate with different departments regarding safety concerns, property requirements, and asset accountability.
- Communicate safety policies and property procedures effectively to employees.
- Perform multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering course or any related 4-year course
- With BOSH training (SO1/SO2) is an advantage
- Has basic knowledge of Safety Officer responsibilities
- Willing to work under pressure
- Has good communication skills, both oral and written
- Computer literate, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently
